AutoPlex Automated Multiplex Biomarker Analysis
Experience Fully-Automated Multiplex Biomarker Analysis
ALPCO and DYNEX® Technologies have combined the power of SmartPlex® Technology and the DYNEX Multiplier® to fully automate multiplex analysis of novel protein biomarkers.
ALPCO’s AutoPlex™ Assay empowers laboratories to measure 5 markers per sample simultaneously in a single workflow. Each automated run accommodates two plates and produces up to 880 test results from 176 samples when testing in singlicate.
AutoPlex Advantages
- Perform 5 assays in one concurrent workflow
- Reduce hands-on time and variability
- Increase testing capacity
- Expand menu with current staffing

SmartPLEX Technology
DYNEX’s patented and innovative SmartPLEX technology combines biomarker-specific antibody-coated beads with 96-well plates for multiplex batch processing.
AutoPlex™ Gastrointestinal (GI) Panel
ALPCO’s automated multiplex assay, AutoPlex GI Panel, provides sensitive and accurate measurement of up to 5 GI biomarkers in human stool samples. The panel combines the workflow advantages of multiplexing with the proven reliability of traditional chemiluminescence sandwich immunoassays to enable batched sample processing for related biomarkers. In addition, AutoPlex GI biomarker panels are compatible with ALPCO’s universal stool extraction device for fast, simple stool processing.
ALPCO’s AutoPlex GI Panel microplate is based on SmartPLEX technology. Antibody-coated beads are fixed to the well surface and detect 5 individual biomarkers in human stool samples. Levels of calprotectin, eosinophil-derived neurotoxin (EDN), hemoglobin, lactoferrin, and pancreatic elastase (PE) are quantified using a sandwich chemiluminescence ELISA technique.
Flexible Biomarker Combinations
AutoPlex GI Panels offer the flexibility of 3-, 4-, or 5-plex combinations of calprotectin, EDN, hemoglobin, lactoferrin, and pancreatic elastase based on volume and specific needs.

The DYNEX Multiplier
The DYNEX Multiplier features walk-away automation, processing up to two plates and 176 samples. The analyzer handles all steps from on-board sample dilution through results reporting. Designed for chemiluminescent detection, the Multiplier enables a simple workflow that reduces variability between operators and variability in sample handling between assays.

Reduce Waste and Save Lab Space with AutoPlex
Measuring 5 analytes in a single, concurrent workflow dramatically reduces the amount of reagent vials and bottles needed, freeing up precious freezer space and reducing waste.
Rather than measuring five analytes in five separate plates (left), AutoPlex reduces waste and saves lab space (right).
Universal Stool Extraction Device
AutoPlex GI biomarker panels are compatible with ALPCO’s universal stool extraction device. A validated stool extraction device eliminates the need for manual weighing of most stool samples. Devices are pre-filled with 1.5 mL of extraction buffer designed to free proteins for detection and are compatible with most automated assay systems. A notched sampling stick accurately delivers 15 mg of stool for a 1:100 final dilution. A common extraction procedure enables labs to test several stool-based biomarkers from a single sample extraction.
