C-Peptide I & II (Rat) ELISA - ALPCO Rat Beta Cell line of Insulin and C-Peptide ELISAs are designed to meet your sample needs. This enzyme immunoassay (EIA) kit is a stable and convenient assay system for measuring both Rat C-Peptide I & II in 50 µl of plasma, serum, urine and cell culture supernatant. The EIA kit is prepared by using synthetic rat C-Peptide I as a standard antigen and biotinylated rat C-Peptide I as a labeled antigen. The kit contains a specific polyclonal antibody (C-Peptide antibody) recognized to the amino acid sequence in the C-terminal side region, which are common between rat C-Peptide I and II. Specificity: No cross reactivity (CR) w/ Human, Rabbit & Porcine C-Peptide; CR: 28.8% w/ mouse CP-I and 2.95% w/ mouse CP-II. The kit is characterized for sensitive quantification, high specificity and no influences with other components in samples. Rat C-Peptide standard is a highly purified synthetic product (purity: higher than 98% ). The kit includes all components (96 well Ab coated plate, C-Peptide standard, Labeled Ag, C-Peptide Ab, Sa-HRP, Substrate and dilution and wash buffer) necessary to complete a the Assay.
The processing of proinsulin, which occurs within the B cell, yields insulin and C-Peptide, which are secreted in equimolar quantities into blood circulation. Therefore, the measurement of C-Peptide in blood reflects the concentration of insulin and also provides valuable information to evaluate the pancreatic B cell function.
