Summary:

The LCAT (lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase) ELISA is an enzyme immunoassay intended for the quantitative determination of human LCATin Serum and Plasma. LCAT is an enzyme associated with high density lipoprotein (HDL) and which esterifies cholesterol for storage as cholesterol esters within lipoproteins. As such, LCAT may serve as an indicator for circulating HDL as well. Determination of the LCAT concentration might be a complementary measure for LCAT activity.
